Edwina Ellis designed the Bridge series of British one-pound coins with linocut, while a 2013 two pound coin and the recent Stephen Hawking fifty pence coin for 2019 are digital designs on an iPad. For The Times masthead she engraved polymer blocks and her Art on the Underground poster for TFL depicting London architecture consists of nine three-block colour engravings. Originally from Australia, Edwina pioneered engraving on homopolymer resins and recently developed relief printing apparatus using laser-cutting technology. With recent prints and films she continues to explore engraving with vinyl cutting that informed her Fine Art Practical PhD research at Aberystwyth University. She configured traditional wood engraving tools for Intaglio Printmaker London and has recently taken to inline skating around London streets. For links to works in public collections, see Contacts.
